Long, long ago there was a kingdom ruled by the Kangbeans (kang-bee-ahnz). Throughout this kingdom, and many other kingdoms, Kangbe was considered 'the light'. The villagers were all born and raised to strive at everything they do, make the best out of every situation, and accept everything and everyone. They learned to reason out their problems, making everything a helluva lot less stressful. But with every light comes a dark. Mathoria (muh-thor-ee-uh), the poorest, dirtiest, rudest village throughtout the land, is the complete opposite of Kangbe. Sadly, one day, at the stroke of midnight, Mathoria was struck by the powerful Gorahuns (gore-ah-oonz). The Gorahuns took over everything. Their army was much bigger than the Mathorian army. Many were killed that night, many fled to the only place they knew would accept them, Kangbe. With a careful meeting with the ruler of all that the light touched, the Mathorians were accepted into their territory with a few rules. The King handed over the most rundown section in Kangbe to the shadow-people. Because the two villages were completely opposite, the Mathorians were demanded to take the way of the Kangbean lifestyle into consideration for one day it may save their lives. At the stroke of midday, the Mathorians and Kangbeans could step onto each others land. When the sun started to set, it was time to return to your side of the boundaries. No member from either village was permitted to go inside the others huts/homes, shops, etc. And last, but certainly not least, no member from either village was to mate or even 'talk' to a member from the other village. You see, if these simple rules were to be broken, the culprit would either be sentenced to death or shunned from the villages, forced to go out in the world on his or her own. If many decided to attack the other village, war would break out and it'd be every man for himself. So, with that said, this is the story of the Kangbeans and the Mathorians, attempting life at peace. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I want to set a few things straight before we start. One, this takes place in many, many years ago. Which means there are no brand name clothes, cars, cell phones, simple lights with switches or pull strings, computers, makeup, shampoo/conditioner, etc. Down below, towards the end of this, will be pictures, creating the picture in your head of where this roleplay takes place and the general gist of everything. This roleplay is a free-for-all which means there's no set storyline, so please, let your imaginations run wild. I want this to be a killer roleplay. If you create your characters and you get bored of the roleplay, don't just drop out. That angers me. Please, I'm asking you, make a scene for your characters. For example, them leaving the village, them dying of a disease, them committing suicide, etc. I'd appreciate it greatly. I encourage you to stay in this roleplay even if your characters aren't interracting with someone elses for the simple fact that, I promise you, sometime in the roleplay, your characters WILL be needed. If you're not going to post for a week or two, due to vacation or something, just let me know. If you've made it this far, you get ten points. Congrats, you're almost to the finish line. I truly do you hope this roleplay, if not... well, that sucks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rules and other information: this roleplay is for myself, amanda, chloe, and kaelynn. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The great Kangbe castle: x The Mathorian territory: x | x --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Character biography: I want a picture, your character name, who their loyalty goes to, and any other information. If you want relationships with another character or drama, please ask the other person before setting it in stone. (: Anyone can join!

![]() Ziana (zee-ah-nuh) This lovely creature comes from the kingdom of Mathoria at the age of 16. The only thing light about this lady is her eyes. Her icey blue eyes are one thing that make her look so daring. The other is her curvy tempress body. Ziana isn't a very nice girl. Shes very fiesty, extremely rude, and super blunt. Her mother died at a young age only a few days after Zee was born. So she grew up without a mother figure, making her even more tough with only her father to show her how life was done. Shes got a strange sense of humor, finding others pain hilarious and her facetious statements funny. Some might say shes a crul hearted bitch. But thats just how she was grown up to be, it's just how the Mathoria children were raised. So this new shock of nice people, are a drastic change for this chick.

At only 17 years of age, Wren must be ready at a moments notice if her aging father were to pass away, betrothing her to the crown of the Kangbean people. Wren grew up as an only child, her mother ‘mysteriously’ murdered the day she gave birth to her only child, a daughter. Or so Wren was told. As an only child, her Father, King Artemis, ruled over her life with the same iron fist he used to rule over his beloved ‘light’ kingdom. Whereas Wrens father is tough, strong willed, and very passionate, Wren keeps more to herself. Wren is a bit of a tom boy, a constant daydreamer and a hopeless romantic. You can always find her reading through old Kangbian love and adventure novels in the Palace library, or practicing her archery skills at the firing range. Wren’s father keeps a very watchful eye over her due to her desire to...stray into the darker sides of town and let’s just say that Wren doesn’t exactly have any friends on the darker sides of life due to the fact that her father is looked upon by the Mathorian people. Wren is constantly getting into trouble due to her sky likeness and her ability to see light in everyone, even the dark. Wren is sweet, kind, and dreams to one day restore the peace between the Kangbeans and the Mathorians, but her father things her foolish. But a lonesome girl can dream can’t she?

At 18, Xavier is the most ravished man bachelor in all of the Kangbe kingdom. Xavier is a member of the wild hunt of the Kangbians, a knight like system that protects the boarders of the two lands and provides safety for the Kangbe people. From the moment he was born, Xavier’s knew he was going to be a protégée. At a young age Wren could fire and arrow from a long distance and hit the center every time, he could win a hand to hand combat match with any of the other boys and ride a horse with such stamina that no other boy could match. Many of the people in the village think he was gifted by the gods, but Xavier thinks nothing of it. Xavier is slightly cocky, and a bit rude, but when he’s not trying to show off he can be very sweet and romantic. He is a real gentlemen and treats all his women that way, although he is known for a heartbreaker. Xavier can’t help but have these feeling that there is this perfect girl out there for him, and he just hasn’t found her yet. And that’s when Wren’s father didn’t think he could have ever come up with a better suitor for her daughter like this model citizen. A true Kangbian nationalist who fears for there village and despises the Mothorians and there dark ways...or does he? But when Xavier and Wren don’t exactly get along, will they ever be able to fall in love or will fate have something else store
(Yes I am aware this is horrible, lo siento)

This is going to suck so bear with me, I guess ! But I mean, lazy Kaelynn is lazy. Nothing new.
Ellis. Eighteen. Kangbean. She's the oldest girl in her family and also probably the only girl in her family line to actually have aspirations. She's clever and brilliant, if not a bit naive and too sheltered by her parents.
Hunter. Nineteen. Kangbean. Ellis's older brother. He's rather arrogant and gets a decent amount of attention simply for his looks. He certainly lives up to his name; a skilled archer and very quick on his feet. He's been raised to be polite in all circumstances, and he tries, but there's certainly a few evident cracks in his facade especially when he talks to any of the Mathorians.

S C E N E It was a slow, calm morning of another peaceful, beautiful day. The trees were in full bloom, the sun was high, bright, and warm, the ocean was crystal clear and sparkling blue, and yeah. It was the stroke of midday, which meant everyone was set free of their morning duties. The villages were now permitted into the other villages territory. Shitttttay opening scene, but that's okay. Wren pulled her right shoulder back gripping an arrow between her fore fingers. She gritted her teeth as she swiftly uncurled her fingers letting the arrow fly from her bow striking the target. From a few paces behind her, her father smiled and clapped excitedly. "Great job darling..." he said "...but you still need to work on keeping your left arm straighter..." Of coarse, she though as he nagged on and on, he always had to say something was wrong with her. Wren sighed rolling her eyes as she dropped her bow; she was tired of being locked up in the castle, with the same routine, the same expectations, the same life. "Something wrong" Her father bellowed from behind her interrupting her from her thoughts. "No..." she said "I think I'm tired, I'm going to go fetch something from the kitchen and maybe head into town" she said laying her bow down in it’s holding place, ripping off her leather gloves and stalking away. “Be careful” her father called after her “Don’t forget your cloak-“ he said before she slammed the wooden door behind her.
Xavier's thighs beat against his saddle as his horse galloped through the forest. He was one of a few men who were sent on a small border patrol mission in order to make sure that nobody had crossed the treaty lines until it was mid-day. Although they wouldn't be able to tell if the line had been crossed, he loved the feel that he was somehow protecting his village from the outsiders. "Bring up the rear and head into town. There's nothing unusual I can see" he bellowed out back to his mates as he guided his horse to the north towards the Kangbe village he called home. His dismounted as he arrived in town guiding his horse down the dirt path of the streets people cast fleeting glances at him and he grinned, showing off his pearly whites.

Noah was busying himself with a fellow Mathorian out by the Forests edge. It was his duty today to collect fruits and things. But, due to thinking with his manhood, he failed to do his job. When he heard the gong, he grinned. It was his sign to leave. He fastened on his oh-so-famous leather cuff around his wrist before flipping his charcoal locks once. "Nice to meet you, Rachel!" he called, walking away from the girl. "It's Rebecca..." the girl said softly, in horror. Did he really just do that? Noah fastened his off-white button up, leaving the first few unopened. Once reaching the edge of the Mathorian territory, he glanced around. Hopefully nobody'd stop him and ask where the fruits were. Afterall, if he failed to do his job, he was letting his people down. His eyes scanned the area around him before landing on a familiar set of devils. One brunette, one blonde. He grinned at the sight, beginning to head towards them. "So, when am I going to hit a homerun with you, my dear Raena?" he purred in the blondes ear, slipping his arm around her shoulder. Raena was leaning against a stack of hay, her pale arms crossed over her black, cropped leather jacket that hid the top of a flowing, white laced dress that made her skin look just a smidge tanned. On her feet were a pair of simple mid-calf black leather boots. Her long, flowing, golden locks were disturbed by an arm. Raena's cerulean orbs locked on a familiar face. Her fingertips gripped the boys chin. "Only real men strike out with me." she hissed, sliding from under his arm. "Ready, Zi?" she grinned, beginning to walk away from the boy. "Oh, come on, Rae!" Noah shouted. Raena let out a small laugh as her hands slid to her waist. Only a few more yards and they'd be crossing the boundary into the Kangbe territory.

Daniel head the gong, letting him know it was time for him to leave his post and head back to his hut. The only family he had was his little sister, which in no doubt was probably getting herself into huge bunches of trouble. But the two didn't have a very good relaitonship. They were more just like living with eachother without any recodnition. He slid off his gloves and put them in his back pocket. Next he gave his ax one hard swing over his shoulder to send it whirling into the wooden tree stump where he had been cutting wood for the town. And he left it there, making a note of where it was specifically so he could continue his hard work tomorrow. Living near the Kangbe kingdom wasn't as bad as he thought. He actually kind of enjoyed the dark twisted thought. He liked to keep his enimies close. Daniel had no problem with enimies, he had his fair share. He even had killed a man or two....or 20. But that was just over battles. He never had killed a man for personal reasons. It was just the way Daniel was, he knew he had the strength...but he was wise enough to do it. Three parts brave, One part wise is what is dad used to say to him. Until his father died in battle and left him and Ziana to live by themselfs. He'd be proud of Daniel now. No doubt, hes three parts brave three parts wise.

Wren dodged through several maids bustling around in the kitchen preparing for a ‘special’ meal for the castle that would take place in the evening. She quickly reached into one of the fruit bowls a maid was carrying into the dining room snatching a bright red apple from it. She hurried out of the kitchen before she was trampled and bit into the red delicious as she climbed the back stairs to her room. As she devoured her apple, Wren she slipped into a pair of her oldest brown riding boots even though her father had bought her a new pair, she wanted to look normal, to blend in. She slipped on her dark blue riding cloak pulling the hood over her short blonde curls keeping them concealed. She rushes back down the stairs the way she came and went to the stables to get her horse Jev. Ever since a young age, Jev had been her love and pride, her only escape from the castle. Wren stuck her foot in the stirrup and lifter herself onto Jev, “Ready to ride” she whispered to him rubbing the soft spot behind his ears. She kicked her heels into his sides gripping onto Jev’s haunches as they sped into the village.
Xavier tied his horse up as he reached the center of town, where venders were bargaining prices of vegetables and friends were talking, allowing his horse to drink from a trough of water as he ran a few errands. Tonight, he would be meeting with the King in his palace, for some reason he didn’t know. His mind raced with ideas as walked down the packed streets. Does the King want me to take control of his army, does the king need defense? Is something wrong with the boundary? Are the mathorians planning something that his spy’s picked up that he would need my help? Does he want to raise my position in the Wild Hunt, I am already the leader of a small faction of men? His thoughts dissipated as he found himself staring of towards the boundary line between the villages. Two chillingly beautiful women emerged from the forest, one instantly catching his eye. Her pale blonde hair was ravishing, almost breath taking but he internally slapped himself for finding anything beautiful about a mathorian maiden.

Ellis furrows her eyebrows, unfastening the black ribbon tied around her right wrist and tying her messy, windblown dark hair into a ponytail; a futile attempt to keep the brown locks out of her eyes while she tried to focus. She was hired to draw maps of Kangbe because of her artistic abilities and love of geography, and also because the Kangbeans really liked to see the boundary between them and Mathoria when it was truly tangible: on paper and forged in ink. It gave them a sense of security that Ellis could respect. That, and they were paying her money- Jobs aren't exactly abundant when you're an eighteen year old girl. She was lucky to be paid for something so easy for her to do. Hearing the gong, she sort of sighed. As she was sitting near the boundary lines, she knew that meant silence might be hard to come by for at least a little while. She stayed put regardless, hoping to buy herself at least a few more minutes of work before she put her unfinished map inside. Hunter clenches his teeth upon hearing the gong, pulling a hand through his hair. After putting away his bow and arrow, he decides to head home after seeing the first few Mathorians come over the borderline. He smiles at one girl he makes eye contact with, polite as always, but she just scoffs to herself, as if he were the one so terrible to socialize with. He thinks vaguely that if blood were actually capable of boiling, he'd be dead; as he starts walking again, picking up his stride admittedly in an attempt to avoid any further contact. He crosses his fingers by his sides and hopes it works. He doesn't feel like dealing with this anymore- Kangbe was such a peaceful town, until the Mathorians had to come and just.. Well, he doesn't want to say "ruin everything", not really, he tries not to be that dramatic, but, well. Lately, he can't do anything without feeling so incredibly angry he can hardly function. He ties it back to his father, a little- His father is a huge, towering man who probably weighs in at at least 275 and measures in at about 6'5''. Hunter doesn't really understand anatomically how he's actually his father considering Hunter is barely 5'9'' and is almost as skinny as his sister. Ah, well. He's a good runner, not a bodybuilder, and he isn't claiming to be.

Rolling her eyes, Raena stuck her hands into her pockets. She had nearly nine hours to herself, roaming free around the kingdom. She passed by a few fruit stands and merchants with Ziana before coming across one that didn't seem guarded. Being that she missed breakfast, she was quite hungery. She lightly bit her lip. "Keep walking." she told Zianna before putting on a devilish grin. She looked around casually before walking rather close to the stand. Her hand snuch out of her pocket, snatching an apple from the Kangbean stand. She stuck her hand back in her pocket with the apple before picking up her speed slightly, catching up with her dearest friend. After they got a handfull of yards away, Raena pulled the apple from her pocket. She grinned over at Ziana, gripping the apple. "Oh, how I adore being such a filthy piece of scum in our society." she joked before sinking her pearly whites deep into the apple, breaking the shiny, ripe red skin and plunging deep into the juicy center. She tore off a piece and began to chew. Noah let out a long, hard sigh. Oh how he hated spending his days alone. It was time to find another lab rat for his lonely hour of the day. He ran a rough hand through his raven locks, messing them up even more than they already were. His slightly muddy, black leather boots crushed the leaves and gravel beneath every step. He let out a sigh before crossing the boundary line of the villages. He grinned, feeling somewhat rebelious. He never understood why it gave him a rush to do something that was... well, allowed. He continued down his chosen path, winking at a few of the Kangbean girls who seemed to adore him from afar. If only they knew the real him.

Ziana shook her head. Laughing ust a little at what her friend had said. "You think thats what flithy scum do? Thats nothing." Her nose crinkled by the time she said the word nothing. It wasn't hard for Zi to say that she wasn't anything like a good girl. She stayed constantly in the beds of Mathorian's strong young men and she stole, and constantly tempted other men around her. She grabbed a hold of Rae's wrist and yanked her along as she jumped into a sprint. Her other hand grabbed a fist full of her dress and pulled it up so running made it easier for her to run. Ziana pulled her to the edge of the forest and peered out from behind a tree. Nodding towards the Kangbean castle. "Now, I bet if we stole somethin' from in there, we'd be real scum" Her lips turned up into a grin. Adrenalin rushes were her drugs. The adrenalin just got her dopamine going, her heart rate went up and up. She turned back to look at Rae. "are you ready for it?" She let her skirt go and started off into the forest that wrapped around to the back of the castle. "There should be a cellar opening to the cellar of the castle back here somewhere. Books actually do help you" She laughed softly, noting that she read the cellar knowladge somewhere in a book about the Kangbeans.

Wren slowed Jev down to a trot as they entered the village limits, she quickly dismounted and tied his reins to a tree. She pulled the wilting apple core from her cloak and let him finish it off as a treat, patting his side as she did so. "Be back soon, I promise boy" she wispered to him adjusting her long cloak on her petite body. Wren stuck to the shadows of town glacing at venders fine jewlery and knick knacks that always interested her from both Kangbe and Mathoria. Wren couldn't help but fiddle with her gold locket around her neck that her mother had given her when she saw others similiar to hers. She always tried to think of memories regarding her mother, but all she had were portraits to remember her by that were almost meaningless to her. So, she had her mothers eyes and her hay colored hair, she wanted to know what she was like. As she traveled around town, she had no idea that the castle was being stalked....

Ellis furrowed her eyebrows at the unfinished map spread out on the ground, her thought process interrupted by the Mathorians rushing in to Kangbe for the day. She sighed, pouting a little dramatically and carefully rolling up her work. She was always careful to stay professional- There weren't many great jobs open to Kangbe girls besides you know.. housewife. Ellis abhorred the idea of domesticity, though she knew with the way things were now, it was practically an inevitability. Part of her envied the Mathorian girls- They seemed to not have a care in the world for what she was able to observe, and to her, she thought that might be nice. At least, for a day or so. She was sure she'd get sick of truly no obligations after a while. She'd grown too used to structure in her day to day life. She'd actually sort of come to enjoy it. But she couldn't help but wonder what things would be like if the tables were turned.. It would be interesting if anything. Hunter glances over at his sister Ellis, contented when he sees that she's alone. He's not particularly protective, but something about the Mathorian guys makes him feel exactly that. He knows, however, that Ellis is probably more capable at taking care of herself than he could ever be at taking care of her, so it's a futile attempt to be a cliched caring brother. Hunter climbs a few branches up into an apple tree near the border, picking off a particularly ripe apple and biting into it with the satisfying crunch as he observes midday from a birds' eye view (sort of), all the while trying to keep control of himself and not completely flip his shit on anyone who happens to make eye contact with him. He was always taught to be polite and he always tries to be polite, regardless. He's not going to lose it over a couple of Mathorians in Kangbe. It's not like they're really bothering anyone... Except for, you know, him.
