Wren felt Camren's hand slip in her's and immediatly she was at a loss for words. He liked her, he actually liked her. She bit her lip, her cheeks bright red as she looked up at him "Yeah, to go" she finally managed. She interlaced her fingers with his, hers fitting in his perfectly. She never wantied to let go.


Gale at first suprised by Kelsey leaning in and planting a small kiss on his lips immediatly turned into a stone, unsure of what to do, how he should react, but in less then a second he was blending his rough, full lips with hers in a sweet, soft kiss. There was nothing fiery or overly sentual about it but nice, a nice he hadn't experienced in a while. He gently pulled away after a few seconds, locking his eyes with her searching for her feelings.

Camren smiled, his hand in hers. It was perfect. XXXXX. He opened the car door, not wanting to let go of her hand but he did. He liked the way they could be together in silence but it not have to be awkward. He liked her, honestly liked her. Like, she had a special-little-spot-in-his-heart liked her. He began driving, glancing over at her. "So, you don't have like a boyfriend or anything.. do you?" he said to her, turning down the music a little. 

Kelsey didn't smile, she took her hand of his neck and pulled away from him. She smirked a little and crossed her legs, facing him. "Gale.." she said watching him. She twiddled her thumbs, and looked down the smirk falling from her face. "Sorry," she said looking back up at him. "It won't happen again."  

Wren sighed as she had to get in the car, letting go of Cam's hand. Wren couldn't help but almost choke on her coffe as she quietly sipped it in the passneger seat. "No" she said her eye brows furrowing a bit, "You know what, I can't even remember the last time I went out on a date..." she said trailing off feeling a bit embaressed.


Gale smirked at her as she began nervously playing with her fingers. He reached up and put his fingers under her chin tilting her head towards his. "Nothing to be sorry about" he said smiling at her. He softly moved a stray piece of brown hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear, he couldn't help but chuckle a bit. She was adorable, in more ways then one.

Camren nodded, trying not to smille. "Good." he coughed, "I mean, oh." he laughed. "I just meant, well then maybe we could hangout again sometime soon?" he pulled up to her house. The many times he had brought Kelsey over when she couldn't drive yet. Him being a senior, as she was a year younger. He watched her, eager.

Kelsey laughed, "Okay." she looked around. She wanted to kiss him again, do more then kissing. She didn't know what to do. "Are you hungry?" she looked at the clock, it was already 10:30. It was dark out, but she didn't care. She wanted to be with him all night. "Do you want to watch tv.. or something?" she smirked.

Wren smiled like a fool, and looked down at her lap laughing a bit. "I'd uh, I'd really like that" she said looking up at him. She debated whether to kiss him or not, hug him, just leave...so she settled on kissing him on the cheek. She blushed as her lips brushed his soft skin. She grabbed onto her latte from the cup holader and got out of tha passenger seat, "Thanks again Cam" she said.

"Is a teenage guy ever not hungry" he said laughing. He grabbed her hand and lifted her off the bed, he didn't know so much time had gone by. "I make a mean banana split, what do you say...?" he said heading downstairs into the kitcchen. "And tv would be nice."

The morning announcements clicked on in first period and the high pitched principles voice rang across the rooms. "Good morning students, don't forget that the Homecoming Dance and football game is in one week, better secure your dates and buy your tickets at first and second lunch!" Girls leaned over and wipsered to eachother, guy rolled there eyes and teachers tried to quiet the kids down. "Oh and don't forget next friday is the Debate Teams first match against Wilmont Higschool, it should be an exciting start to the year! Go Debaters!" Most kids just laughed, or didn't even pay attention to the last part before the Principal clicked off.

As Kelsey sat at her desk, notebook open, water bottle in the corner, and her cell phone almost tipping off her thigh, sha glanced out the window. Thinking about Gale, it had been happening for awhile lately. Ever since they hung out that friday night. She jumped when Mr. Murdock's voice came on the intercom, her Blackberry falling off her thigh and splattering on the ground. She sighed, leaning over and putting the peices back together again. She smiled as she heard the announcements, this was her favorite week. She was secretly hoping that Gale would ask her, even though technically it was girl's choice. She rolled her eyes at the Debate team part, wondering if Wren would be going there instead of coming with her to the dance..

Camren's head rested on his hand which was propped up on his elbow. The announcements weren't surprising, except when the Debate team part chimed in. They always shoved the 'non-important' stuff to the end. He glanced over at Wren, who was sitting a little ways away from him. He looked down, sighing. He kind of wanted to go to the dance with her, but with the meeting it kind of ruined things. 'You'll be with her, and that's all that matters..' and besides, maybe they'd be able to catch a dance at the end of it. Camren was such a hopeless romantic.

Wren sighed as she heard the announcement come on, she couldn’t help but think about Cam escorting her to the dance. She would wear a long strapless gown, wear her hair down for once, maybe even curled, dance her first slow dance, have the time of her life…when her dreams were cut short. The last announcement told her that her and Cam would both be stuck in khaki’s and polo’s, her hair in a ponytail, sitting in a chair, and answering questions about politics or world problems. She groaned wanting nothing but to slam her head against the desk repeatedly. She glanced back at Cam giving him a look a sort of sad smile…she would be with him that night at least, right? She would take whatever time she got to spend with him happily.

Gale couldn’t help looking down at his backpack where a single red rose sat, he kept debating all day who he was going to ask. Kelsey, Amelia, Kelsey Amelia, Kelsey, his head screamed at him. For the past few weeks Kelsey was the only girl he could focus on, she was real, fun, and everything he ever wanted…but he knew that a dance wouldn’t be enough for her, he didn’t want her caught up in the lime light where he had to pretend to fake, he didn’t want her to get her nose stuck up by all girls alike, so he had made his might up, He was asking Amelia because he didn’t want to hurt her. But he had no idea how much it would.

Camren smiled at her, the bell rang. He saw her slip out of class and collected his things, he was right behind her. "Wren." he said, his finger tracing her arm. They stood facing eachother, their eyes locked. He was a t a loss for words, he wanted to kiss her right then and there. It had been a little more then a week since they last hung out but they'd been having coffee once in awhile after meetings. No kissing, no touching, nothing. He was fine with it. Honestly. He smiled, not knowing what to say..

Kelsey jumped up, 'this is it' she thought. 'I'm going to ask him, here, today.'  her mind spoke. She grabbed her things, putting them in her purse as she walked. She headed to the bathroom. She looked at herself, well put together, eye makeup a little smudged, but alright. Her hair was in a loose bun, a little braid connecting everything. X. She fixed her makeup, and walked out of the bathroom. With every beat of her heart, every step she took, she got more anxious, excited, scared. She opened te cafeteria doors and looked around, not spotting him yet..

Wren tried to give Cam a smile, but it was hard, "Hey" she said weakly opening up her locker to place her books in sighing. She couldn't leave him in the dark, she had to tell him how she felt about him, but she was so nervous. She turned around, and while she looked down at her feet she talked to him. "So, I umm was going to ask you to tha dance and all, and I mean I'm sure you didn't even probually want to go with me but I was, and now we have a debate match and I just wanted to say that I um..." she said catching herself as she kept babbling on and on.

Gale walked into the lunch room nervously running his hands through his hair as he looked for Amelia, and there she was right on que sitting at her normal table looking totally normal. He walked over to her and tapped her on the shoulder, she turned around as all the girls around her giggled and smiled, because he was standing there with a red face and a single red rose. Amelia did a good job of pretending she had no idea, when it had been there plan all along, as the girls condradulated Amelia, that's when he saw her, across the room starring right at him. Kelsey.

Camren facial expressions changed as soon as Wren dropped her face, as he listened to her a sly smile spread across his face. "Oh, Wren." he said when she finished. He took his hand and lifted her face up, "I would love to go with you." he chuckled to himself, "What do you think about sneaking out of the end of the meeting?" he said, smiling. 

Kelsey turned her head the slightest inch, and there he was. Arm extented, rose in hand and eyes locked with Amelia. She was smiling, and all of her followers around her were laughing. Kelsey was frozen, she couldn't move. She felt as if her whole body had just been put on lock-down. The took a deep breath, closing her eyes. When she opened them, he was staring back at her. Her face was dead, emotionless. She pivoted on her left foot and started walking out the lunchroom. She covered her hand with her mouth, trying to hold all emotions in. She ran. 

"Really!" she said excitedly lifting her head to meet his eyes that were clearly smiling. "I, I uh mean only if you want to, I don't even have a dress and buying tickets to catch the last hour of it seems pointless but I mean, uhm" she said having to catch herself again. She couldn't help but begin to blush a bright rosey red.

As there eyes locked Gale couldn't help but see the hurt flaring in her eyes, he wanted to run after her, to tell her that he...that he loved her, but she would never listen to him now, but it was worth a shot right. Just as Amelia wrapped her arms around his shoulders he pushed out of them and jogged after her, "Kel....Kelsey" he yelled after her pushing through people, he had to tell her. He had to atleast try.

Camren shrugged, "We'll do it Mean Girls style." he laughed, taking her hand. "Let's go to lunch." he said. As they walked he glanced at her. They talked about small stuff, like what she was doing that night, and how her grades were. "What are you doing tonight?" he opened the cafeteria door. When Kelsey ran by him. He let go of Wren's hand, "Was that Kelsey?" he looked at Wren.. And then Gale ran by.

Kelsey heard him call for her, she didn't care. Nothing he could say could please her. She caught a glimpse of Wren and Cam but didn't care enough to stop, she was already running. But she couldn't run anymore, and she couldn't hold it in. She sat down on the ground, leaning on the end of the lockers, her knees tucked into her chest. Her feet were poking out, but she was almost hidden. Her eyes got watery but she wiped them away before they could stream down her face. 

"Exactly!" she said laughing a bit "Well, let's see I have a bio project, but I could always use an assistant" she said smiling down as he grabbed her hand, she still couldn't shake the idea that he might actually like her toom when he let go. When she looked back up her brother was running by, "Was that Gale?" she said questioningly glancing over her shoulder as he turned the corner. "What do you think that was all about?"

Gale turned the corner  not even noticing his sister as he passed the. Kelsey was faster then him, and by now safely hidden somewhere away from him, he was too late. He angrily ran his hand through his hair, it wasn't supposed to happen like this, he should have told her, he was an idiot. He angrily banged his fist against a locker door making a loud metal sound. He hated himself, what had he done.

Cam nodded, "I'd love to be your assistant!" he said, too excited. He saw as Gale ran by next, he frowned. "I have no idea.." he said, instantly crabby. He looked at her, "Wanna go spy?" he said, pushing their hand back and forth.

Kelsey sighed, she couldn't deal with any of this anymore. Nobody cared about her, Wren was always off some where. Her brother didn't even talk to her, but that was nothing new. And the guy she liked didn't even like her back. She got up, wiping her eyes once more. He was standing there down the hall, he must've just gotten there. They looked at eachother and she looked away, and simply started walking away. 'Don't break down, Kelsey.' she thought.

Wren couldn't help but laugh a bit as Cam agreed to help her, although it was super nerdy she thought it was cute. "Sure, I mean...you don't think they...oh god Cam, I saw Gale with a rose today...you don't think he broke her heart!?" She said hurrying after them, Cam's hand in hers.

Gale stayed where he was gazing into Kelsey's eyes, feeling ashamed that he had punched the locker. He was at a loss for words as she began walking farther and farther down the halls, he begged for her to stop or to turn around and run into her arms but she didn't. "I'm sorry, I was trying to protect you" he said almost as low as a wisper, she may have heard it she may have not, but he knew it wouldn't make a difference no matter what he said.

Camren followed her, "Wait, what!?" he didn't like the thought of Kelsey with Gale now. He whispered, "Wren, don't get us in trouble.." he chuckled. He squeezed herhand as they eased around the corner. Nobody was in the halls it was empty, and the lights were on very bright so it was dark. He saw them and pulled Wren back, "they're right there," he said, shushing her.

Kelsey heard a low whispy sound, her head turned, glancing at him one last time wasn't gonna do anything. Right? She asked her self mentally. "What?" she said loudly, her tone was angry. But she couldn't help it. "Now you don't have the heart to break it to me, Gale?" she shook her head, "Speak up."

Wren followed after Cam almost blowing there cover untill he pulled her back, and my she didn't mind being this close to him at all. She intently listened, although she could barely hear anything of her beating heart. How could her brother do this, this was her best friend she was talking about!

Gale felt Kelsey's words penetrate his heart, unsure if they were making him angry or upset, or both. "I didn't want it to happen like this Kel, I was going to tell you myself. Look, I'm only going with Amelia becuase I don't want to get you caught up in this popular sh!t, I want you to stay exactly the way you are" he says his voice catching "Because I really like you Kel, and I didn't want this to change anything between us" he knows he won't believe her, but he has to do this for himself, to admit his wrong.
