Gonna repost some junk real quick:
1. Snape and Lily were best friends since childhood, he eventually fell in love with her.
2. James is mean to both of them all the time, especially Snape. In the fourth year, James humiliated Snape in front of a bunch of students. Lily tried to help Snape, but he called her a mudblood, so she stopped talking to him.
3. I don't actually think James fell for Lily until his seventh year, when he changed and got all mature finally, and became prefect with her, but we can change that if necessary.
4. Lily finds out later in the fourth year that Snapes into dark magic, even though she's always suspected it, and tried to keep him away from it.
5. Then there's all the stuff with Remus being all werewolfy and the guys being anamagus' for him.
6. Sides are being chosen in their Seventh year, but the war hasn't begun yet. I don't even think Voldemort rises to power until their out of school, because he asks Lily and James to be Death Eaters, but they say no three times. Then he kills them :\

http://weheartit.com/entry/17935690 Laila Laila's a Slytherin. Her whole family is full of Slytherins. She fits the description well. She's extremely clever and recourseful. Not to mention rules mean nothing to her. Despite all that, Slytherins hate her. Her parents work and live in the muggle world by choice, and they're seen as traitors. Not to mention they're poor. Students aren't outright mean to Laila, she is just always ignored. Being her friend would be social suicide, so people, not just Slytherins, stay away. Years of being alone all the time has taught Laila to entertain herself. She enjoys reading as often as possible, and often seems to be in a dream like state, off in her own world. Once she does get a little peer interaction, she's not even sure how to act because it doesn't happen often, and she might trail off mid-sentence into her own little world, which usually drives the people who don't hate her away. http://weheartit.com/entry/16781997 Amber Amber's beautiful and she's well aware of it. Which is probably why she and Sirius are such good friends. They can easily shoot cocky comments back and forth. She's a Gryffindor, obviously, because she's to proud o back down from anything, which is usually seen as being couragous. Her fathers a muggle, unlike her mother, but she finds no shame in it. Amber's strong, fun, and a little too confident, but she's written off boys completely. It's not a trust issue, there's just no point. No point because there's only one boy she would even consider going with, and he happens to always be interested in another girl. She pushes away the pain, though, because she refuses to cry about anything, no matter what, and tends to be in denial about her crush most of the time anyways. |

Scarlett
Scarlett is a gorgeous girl, she's sometimes a little shy but only when she's
not around James and the boys. She knows he's liked Lily for a while, but she
ignores that, just hoping that she was good enough to change his mind about
that. She guesses he must get over it some way, and if she has to be the way,
she wouldn't mind that. She's a smart girl, she has a book with her pretty much
at all times, and she gets lost in the book easily.

"It was pretty good." Amber replied simply. Then smiled "Oh, who am I kidding. A whole summer without you? It was perfect." She joked, shoving him playfully. "Hope you didn't miss me too much"
James nodded, waving quickly to the guys before leading Scarlett out of line and walking to the front, running a hand through his hair to untidy it even more. Afterall, if he was going to get ahead in line, he would have to lay on the Potter charm. He politely asked a third year if they could get in front of her, and she nervously, excitedly stuttered out a yes. James smile over at Scarlett before taking her hand to help her on the boat. "What would you do without me?" He joked.

Sirius scoffed, shoving her back gently. "Of course I didn't miss you too much. I was too busy having to put up with James." He smiled down at her. "I think it's more of a problem of you missing me too much."
Scarlett smiled as she stepped onto the boat, sitting down and smiling at him. "I don't know, maybe fall in the lake." she teased, leaning her head against his shoulder. "So, did you and Sirius do much over the summer?"

Amber nodded "Oh, Sirius, how ever did I survive without you!? I had to remind my heart to beat, because it was so devastated that you weren't around!" she said dramatically, wiping a fake tear. "It's okay. All that matters is you're here now. I need not remind my heart to beat."
James opened his mouth to tell her all of his stories from the summer, and all of the things that he and Sirius had gotten into, because having elderly parents meant they had no idea what he was doing when he wasn't home, but decided against it. Scarlett was good. And he was trying to be good for her. So telling her about all of his fun wouldn't help. "We did all kinds. My parents love him almost as much as they love me." He finally said, throwing his arm around her shoudlers, ignoring the looks from the others on the boat.

Sirius smiled softly, resting his arm back around her shoulders, bringing her in to him. "Aww, Amber loves me." he teased. "Are you sure your heart is beating? I mean, being this close to me must do it some damage." he joked.
Scarlett nodded softly. "I'm glad you had fun." she said softly, resting her head gently against his shoulder. She scooting slightly closer to him as she did, resting her hand gently on his knee.

Thank goodness for the dark, because Amber could practically feel her face turn red. And she hated it. How was she going to stay in denial about her crush if she blushed when he teased her? "You're right, my dear, the heart which lies within my chest does have difficulty with its beating, even when you are around." She said, keeping up with her joking. "So the only cure must be..." she started, smiling before removing his arm from her shoulders and sliding away, dropping the dramatic act. "For you not to touch me." She finished simply.
James turned his head so that his mouth rested against Scarletts hair. He stayed silent for a moment, in deep thought. He could practically already hear the rumors flying about them. They were barely even together at the end of last year, and now that they were showing all this affection, there were bound to be stories about how in love they were. Instead of being happy about the attention it meant getting, his mind, as it usually did, went to Lily, and how he would react if he was asked about the rumors. He didn't want her to think he was settled down and completely taken, because all she had to do was say the word and he would be hers. How pathetic is that? He had to distract himself, make some sort of conversation. "I think I'm gonna work on Peter and Remus this year. I mean, they can't be single forever." He said, straightening his head back up.

Sirius chuckled as he listened to her. "Fine, your loss." He smirked over at her. "So, what did you actually do over the summer, other than miss me?" he asked, keeping up the teasing. He crossed his arms as they walked, smirking as the queue for the boats parted when he came along. He helped Amber onto the boat before hopping in himself, sitting down next to her.
Scarlett nodded softly, "good luck with Peter." she murmured lightly, rolling her eyes at the thought of the boy. He was basically just a tag along who was obsessed over Sirius and James' lives. It was quite pathetic to be honest.

Amber gave everyone who let Sirius pass them pathetic looks. "What are you, a God?" She asked sarcastically, taking her seat in the boat and watching two girls already in it start smiling and whispering to each other. "Ya know, whispering about him isn't going to change anything. He's right in front of you. Use your big mouths to talk to him if you're so in love." She said to them, crossing her arms and ignoring his questions. She stayed quiet for a moment, giving them the chance to speak to him if they wanted, but the boat grew silent. She stared at the water, unsure of where her outburst came from, because people always whispered when she was with Sirius, but she wasn't willing to be the one to break the silence now that the two girls were apparently to intimidated to speak again, which obviously made her smile.
James tensed slightly, glancing towards the boat that Peter had ended up on. "Peter's a nice guy. It shouldn't be that hard." James murmered. He never was able to deal well with people talking about his friends. Even attractive girls. He didn't want to be dramatic and scoot away from her, but it crossed his mind. He'd spent most of his life taking up for Peter and Remus against bullies. He didn't want to do it against his girlfriends too. "You don't even know him."

Sirius sighed softly, wrapping his arm around Amber's shoulders gently. "What's wrong?" he whispered to her, glancing at the girls and giving them a small apologetic smile before turning back to Amber, stroking her shoulder again with his thumb to try to calm her down a little. He didn't know what she was upset about. He sighed softly, glancing past her to the water before looking back at her face, a small frown set on his.
Scarlett sighed softly, pulling a little away from him. "Sorry." she murmured, looking down at her lap, pushing a hand through her hair before looking down into the water.

James sighed, glancing at Scarlett, slightly guilty. "I'm not mad." He promised, taking her hand. "I'm just a little over protective" He explained, bringing her hand to his lips to kiss it. When the boat finally reached the Hogwarts grounds, the other inhabitants of the boat let them out first and he stood, helping Scarlett out before him. "I've gotta go catch up with the team." He said sadly, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. "I'll hopefully see you later." He added, kissing her forehead before turning to gather the team and force them to sit with him at the feast. If he got the meeting over with at the feast, he would get to spend the rest of his night with his friends.
Severus walked quietly up to the castle with everyone else, moving out of peoples way when necessary, going as unnoticed as possible until he found the two friends he did have. The two friends that got him mixed up in all of the dark magic. He tripped over his own feet when he saw Lily, and a pang of sadness stabbed at his heart. He straightened up, and slowly continued to walk, stopping beside her. He'd apologized time and time again for his words in their fourth year. He had been humiliated, and upset, and stressed, and he said stupid things. "Hi, Lily." He said politely. A hand landed on his shoulder and he turned to see James Potter behind him, and quickly shrugged the disgusting hand off. "Leave her alone." James said sternly, apparently trying to act like some hero now. "When and if she wants to talk to you, she will." James added, giving Lily a small innocent smile that Severus was sure was fake. James didn't care about anyone but himself, afterall. He seemed to see someone that he was looking for, and hurried off to catch up with the person.
Amber didn't respond to Sirius' question. Mostly because she didn't even know what was wrong. She was tired of every girl at school being obsessed with him, but why? Why did it matter? "I'm fine" she murmered to him, getting off their boat before he could offer to help her and she'd have to touch his hand yet again.

Scarlett sighed softly, hugging him back and nodding. "See you later James." She bit her lip gently, walking over towards her friends, walking up to the castle with them. She frowned softly as she saw Snape, James and Lily together, ignoring the surge of jealousy she felt before smiling when James walked away, leaving the ex best friends together.
Lily glared at Severus when he came up to her, pushing a hand through her hair. "Thank you James." She said, a small smile twitching on the corners of her lips before she masked it, returning to the usual look of hatred she used when around James, Sirius or Severus.
Sirius sighed softly, walking after her slowly. "What have I done?" he asked, shoving his hands into his pockets. He smiled at a few people they passed, loving being back at Hogwarts. It was great.

James couldn't help but smile to himself as he walked away. Whether she realized it or not, for the first time since he'd met her, Evans had called him by his first name. It wasn't much, but it was a baby step towards friends, atleast. He didn't turn back to make sure Snivelus left her alone, because he didn't quite have time, and he was too elated about the step up with Evans to even be angry with Snape. He quickly caught his chaser and told him to help round up the rest of the team, before walking into the castle.
Severus glared at James' back. Lily said thank you? Not only that. She said thank you James. First name basis now? He thought he was going to be sick. He just had to be her friend again, so that he could keep her away from Potter. Not only that, but he missed he something awful. "How long are you going to keep me in the dog house? I said I'm sorry. I am sorry. What happened that day was awful, and you know I didn't mean it." He practically begged.
Amber sighed "You didn't do anything" She said, looking over her shoulder to force a smile at him. "Calm down. It wasn't you. I just hate people." She joked, filing past the first years and into the great hall.

Lily rolled her eyes as she looked up at Severus. "You called me a mudblood Snape. I can't forgive you for that. You basically called me scum and you expect me to forgive you? Think again. Just leave me alone." she said before turning on her heel, walking over to her friends, walking with them into the great hall, taking a seat at the Gryffindor table.
Sirius rolled his eyes softly, walking into the great hall with her, sitting down next to her. "You can't hate people, because people love me and you love me. It would be like saying you hate yourself. And you don't, I hope not anyway. I don't know how anyone could hate you Ambs." He smiled at her.

Severus watched Lily leave, not moving from his spot. People filed in past him, and he just stood there, unwilling to go inside and face another year of this place. Another year being humiliated by Potters gang. Another year without Lily.
Amber tried to fight back the smile but failed. "Thank you. I am pretty difficult to hate." She finally said. "But who said I love you? I mean, you're alright I guess. I don't hate you but...love's a strong word." She joked.

Lily sighed as she sat down at the table, having, unfortunately to sit near Black and Amber, so that would probably mean James would join them later. She sighed softly, shaking her head, talking to her friends.
Sirius chuckled softly. "I know you love me Amber, you doesn't? Well, other than Snivelus, but he's not important." He said, shrugging lightly.

James talked quickly, taking occasional glances towards his friends, ready to just get the year started and make trouble again. He assigned the date for try outs, promised to make flyers about it as soon as possible, and the moment McGonagal announced that the sorting would begin, he ducked and snuck over to take a seat beside Peter, across from Sirius, Amber and...Evans? He quickly looked away from her, to the front to watch the sorting, clapping enthusiastically every time one was sorted into Gryffindor.
Amber laughed, dropping the conversation when the sorting began, and following James' gaze to Lily before softly nudging Sirius to bring his attention to it. "And you wonder why I hate him. Last time I checked, he had a girlfriend." She murmered with an eyeroll.

Lily smiled as she watched the sorting, giggling as her and her friends cheered a little too much everytime someone was sorting into Gryffindor, like they did every year. She turned back to the table when the feast appeared, still marvelling in how amazing magic was before tucking it, chatting again with her friends.
Sirius followed James' gaze to Evans, raisingh is eyebrows lightly before turning back to Amber in amusement. "So just because you have a girlfriend you're not allowed to look at other girls? Is that some sort of law? Because if it is I've been a criminal many times..."

Amber scoffed "You're just like him." She mumbled, turning to make conversation with Remus and Peter instead. Especially Peter, since he got all googly eyed anytime she even breathed the same air as him.
James watched Amber carefully now, sure that she was taking advantage of Peters eagerness to talk to...any girl, really. It even sort of sounded like she was flirting, and James knew bloody well Peter didn't have a chance with her. He was sent into protective mode, but tore a piece of bread off to stuff into his mouth so that he didn't over react. To distract himself, he quickly looked down the table to smile at where Scarlett was, his usual distraction.

Sirius rolled his eyes at Amber's words. "I'm different though, you love me." he stated before digging into his food, winking merrily at a few girls down the table that were looking at him.
Scarlett was watching James from where she sat, a slight frown on her face. She made sure she masked it, smiling back at him when he smiled over at her, waving shyly before turning back to her food.

James smiled to himself, admiring how adorable his girlfriend was, before rudely cutting in on Amber and Peters conversation to tell an animated story about something that happened over the summer, finishing just as the feast did. He stood from his seat in just enough time to notice Snivelus in the corner, ducked heads and whispering with his evil friends. They jotted something on a piece of paper, nodded, and then seperated like nothing ever happened. James decided it was time for him to go to bed. It'd been a long day, and if there was anything he hated more than Snivelus, it was dark magic. And seeing as he had just witnessed a dark magic meeting of sorts, his good mood was depleted. "See you ladies tomorrow. I'm worn out." He said shortly to his friends, not waiting on them as he made his way to the dormitory.
