Lily smiled softly, keeping her gaze in front of her for the time being as they walked. "I'm fine." she stated gently, laughing softly and looking at him when he spoke again, pushing him away from her playfully. "No. I don't." She admitted, twiddling nervously with her fingers. "I've been thinking about it through the night and I really don't know what to do." She sighed softly, glancing back towards James.

James nodded, "Well don't stress too bad over it. You'll figure it out eventually." He said quietly. This whole decision process was making him beyond nervous. "A bunch of us are going to Hogsmeade together this weekend. You should come. Invite your friends, too, if you want. The more the merrier" He lied. They hadn't actually planned a Hogsmeade trip, but he was sure the guys would go along with it anyways. Oh, and Scarlett, of course. Remembering her made a pang hit James in the chest. He hadn't talked to her in what felt like forever, afterall. And they were supposedly together. He'd set out telling himself he wasn't going to hurt her, but he definitely hadn't been a very good boyfriend either.

Lily nodded softly. "I guess so." She pushed her hands into the pockets of her robes, glancing over at him with a small smile when he mentioned Hogsmeade. She bit her lip nervously, looking down towards the floor, thinking it over. "Sounds fun." She spoke finally, looking back up at him, a small smile on her face as she looked up into his eyes. "Thanks for the invite." she murmured, trying to think of something to break the silence.

James smiled, rubbing at the back of his neck nervously. "Fantastic. It will be fun." He replied, making himself look away from her before he started stuttering or something like a moron. "I'm glad you're going." He added, opening the door to class for her and then following her in. Being with Lily outside of school? Maybe they really were friends now. "You can go ahead and warn your friends that they don't have to walk away everytime I speak to you" He joked, remembering how they all left the table in the common room and made it awkward.

Lily blushed softly at their eye contact, rolling her eyes at his statement. "Yeah well, I'll try." She smiled up at him lightly. She glanced around the classroom, not seeing Severus yet, letting out a small sigh of relief. "What do you guys do in Hogsmeade?" She questioned. "And will your friends like me, I mean, I'm not like them..." She rambled nervously, glancing up towards him.

James laughed, shaking his head "The guy will love you. Don't worry about that." He promised, pulling her seat out for her before taking the seat next to it. "We really don't stay in one place for long in Hogsmeade. There's too much to do. The guys are fun, though, so it's never boring."

Lily smiled softly at him as a thank you before taking her seat, turning slightly to face him. "Will your girlfriend mind that you've invited me?" she asked softly, biting her lower lip nervously as she waited for an answer. She hadn't meant to be blunt, she was just curious.

James started, slightly shocked that Lily asked the question, before getting himself together and shaking his head. "I don't think so. She's not really the jealous type. And besides, I'm inviting you and all of your friends. As a group thing. There's nothing to be jealous of." He explained slowly, then ganced back over at her. "Right?"

"No. I just wondered. I didn't want to intrude." Lily smiled at him gently before glancing down towards the table, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She crossed her legs before looking back up at him. "Tell me about her?" she bit her lip gently, watching him.

James hesitated. Talk to Lily, the girl of his dreams, about Scarlett, his girlfriend? Not on the top of his list of things he wanted to do. "Oh, uh, she's sweet." She said awkwardly. "A little judgemental. Especially about my friends, but I like her." He added. What could he say? He honestly barely knew anything about Scarlett at all.

Lily smiled softly and nodded. She sensed that she had made the situation awkward, but she also figured that James didn't really know much about Scarlett. "Well your friends can be quite intimidating." She smiled at him softly and shrugged, thinking of the times she'd seen him, Sirius, Remus and Peter together...

James laughed lightly, running a hand through his messy hair. "If people knew them like I do, they wouldn't be half as intimidating as they think." He explained, smiling at the thought of his friends. "She's really not that bad about the judgemental thing. She just said this one thing about Peter once, and I have to take up for him enough against other people, you know? I shouldn't have to do it against Scarlett, too"

Lily nodded softly. "I understand." She stated, smiling lightly towards him. She glanced towards the door when it opened, seeing Severus there, her smile turned into a frown and she quickly turned away from him, praying that he wouldn't come over to them.

James watched Lily's expression change unexpectedly and followed her gaze to Snape. He didn't keep his eyes on him for long, to avoid getting angry at him in front of Lily. He looked away just in time to miss Severus glancing at Lily. He smiled smally, giving a nod in greet, before taking his usual seat in the back and averting his gaze from the two of them. "Don't worry about him" James whispered, leaning his chair back on it's two legs casually.

Lily chewed her lower lip gently but nodded at James' words. "I'm trying not to." She murmured. "Don't do that, you'll fall over again." She teased, glancing towards his chair before looking back up, meeting his gaze, a small giggle escaping her lips.

James laughed and put his chair back down, looking back over at Lily. Chills ran up his arms and his mouth went slightly dry. He was planning on replying, but couldn't remember what he wanted to say. "You're eyes are stunning" he said before he could stop himself, nooticing for the first time. Instead of acting embarassed afterwards, he acted like it hadn't happened at all, and opene his book to the assigned page now that the professor was speaking.

Lily blushed lightly, scooting her chair in slightly, picking her book up from the table and flipping to the assigned page. "Thank you." she murmured, keeping her gaze on her book as she tried desperately to think of things that would calm down her flaming cheeks. She shifted slightly in her seat, glancing up at the professor, then James before looking back down at her book.

James nodded slowly once, awkwardly, and feighned interest in what the professor was saying, avoiding eye contact with Lily now. He glanced back at Snivellus a couple times, but Severus didn't look away from his book, not even once. James stayed silent for the rest of the class and when they were dismissed, gathered his things, and got up to leave, but stopped long enough to hold the door open for Lily. "That wasn't too bad. He didn't even look at you" He whispered, shrugging

Lily sat awkwardly in the class, listening to the teacher, taking notes occasionally, gathering her things when they were dismissed. She smiled to James as a thank you for holding the door open for her before shrugging back at his comment. "Good." she murmured, playing lightly with her wand in her pocket.
